  1. The book closed out with Frank Edwards returning to home in Georgia. My question to the author: did Frank Edwards ever return to visit the Virginia family that he had been posted to, to protect their property from predation? Their youngest daughter did relay a gold coin, in hope, via a Union officer, to him in prison camp, which saved his life at the end of the war. It would have been a nice finish to the book to read of any further contact, in person or by letter, that Frank had with that appreciative family, & Miss Emma, their youngest daughter, to which Frank had fallen in love with on page 293 .

    • Karl, Thank you for your interest in the 35th Georgia and my book Red Clay to Richmond. I could find no evidence that Frank Edwards ever returned to Virginia to find the family and the young lady who was his war love.
